Teachers Sensitivity discussed by Dr.Anirudh Tomar, Dean SIERT

Teachers have the prime responsibility to understand the abilities of children. Every student is different and if teachers are sensitive to understand the abilities, problems and needs of their students it becomes easy to have positive impact on the students. The reason is simple, when the teacher understands a student he becomes comfortable with the teacher and the students  give their full attention to learning. The main aim of education to inculcate learning and enhance cognitive domain is met .

Most of us believe that only academic  achievements reflects true impact of teaching on students. This may not be true at all times. The teacher has to recognize and appreciate the virtues in a student and all round development along with leadership qualities will take the student to a higher level of achievements.

The confidence in the teachers improves student’s self image and bring in self confidence. This is a turning point- once self confidence is developed the achievements becomes easier for them. On the contrary any indifference attitude towards students is going to damage their self confidence and results in disinterest in academics and underachievement by them.

When teachers are sensitive to the needs of students and understands them ,they take no time to notice it and will always come up to the expectations of the teachers.   This makes a teacher true friend philosopher and guide. This will improve the behavior of students in the educational institutions.
